TETRA
The technology behind TETRA (Terrestrial Trunked Radio), developed on the basis of emergency and police, has a number of advantages that have led to the standard have become popular among millions of professional users of radio communications. Today the TETRA standard thus renewed and streamlined communication within the areas of supply, transport, shipping, ports, airports, guard and security, home, shopping centers and others.
TETRA can in some areas compares with the GSM standard for mobile telephony - both international standards and both allow you to communicate across equipment from different vendors. Like GSM, TETRA is not a technology from a single vendor, but a standard as a wide range of vendors have chosen to produce radio equipment for. However, there are several key differences between the two standards. For the GSM targeted the need for individual point-to-point communication, the TETRA targeted the need for group communications, where requirements for teamwork, overview and coordinated approach is essential.
